Product Highlights
  • Material: Tungsten carbide body with titanium nitride (gold) coating for enhanced hardness and wear resistance.
  • Usage / Application: Designed for dental cavity preparation, removal of restorations (amalgam, metal, porcelain-fused), crown and bridge adjustments, endodontic access and bone trimming.
  • Available Shapes & Cuts: Multiple shapes (round, cylinder, tapered, pear, flame, torpedo) and cuts (single-cut, cross-cut, finishing) to suit diverse clinical tasks.
  • Dimensions: Standard diameter 2 mm (0.2 cm) and overall length 12.7 cm (5 inch equivalent) — compatible with most high-speed dental handpieces.
  • Sterilization & Care: Autoclavable at recommended temperatures (121°C/15–20 min). Inspect before use and discard if worn, chipped or bent to maintain patient safety.
  • Performance Benefits: Blade-like flutes provide slicing action for cleaner finishes, reduced vibration and heat, faster cutting and improved operator control.
No
Insert the bur fully into the handpiece chuck and tighten securely. Run the handpiece at the recommended speed: High-speed FG burs: 1,50,000–3,00,000 rpm Low-speed RA burs: 10,000–40,000 rpm Apply light, intermittent pressure—avoid excessive force to prevent bur breakage. Use adequate water spray/coolant to avoid overheating.
Material: Head — tungsten carbide (cemented carbide), Shank — stainless steel. Hardness & durability: Tungsten carbide is much harder than steel (approx. 3× rigidity vs. steel) and highly wear-resistant, enabling longer cutting life and high-speed use. Working mechanism: Cutting by blade-like flutes — not abrasive grinding. This yields smoother cuts, less vibration / heat, and better control. Shapes & Cuts: Multiple options depending on use. Common shapes include round, cylinder (straight or tapered), pear, flame, torpedo, etc. Cut types include single-cut, cross-cut, finishing, etc., to adjust aggressiveness and finish quality. Shank / Attachment Type: Carbide burs are available for high-speed handpieces (friction-grip, “FG”, turbine) and for contra-angle / low-speed handpieces (latch-type or “RA”), as well as straight-handpiece (HP) versions depending on need. Sterilisation / Reusability: Dental carbide burs (non-single use) can be cleaned mechanically and sterilized (steam sterilization in gravity or prevacuum cycle) before reuse. Applications / Use Cases: Cavity preparation, caries removal, enamel/dentin cutting, removal of old restorations (amalgam, metal, porcelain-fused crowns), crown/bridge removal or reshaping, bone trimming, endodontic access, finishing & polishing of restorations, restorative margin shaping, contouring, etc.
